In early 2010, I heard about an idiosyncratic obsscure label named 'Witte Dood' (translates as 'White Death' in English), specialising in strange dark musical forms. Naturally, I was intrigued. Enquiries were made, and I spoke with the chap in charge: he liked my Gristian ritual-music, and was interested in releasing my sounds on the label, as long as I obeyed several odd and absolutely non-negotiable instructions:
1) the track lengths had to be specifically 333, 666, 999 & 1332 seconds long;
2) each piece would be released separately, and once I had released all four pieces, there would be no more releases possible on the label;
3) the track titles all had to be a single word;
4) the artwork had to black and white.
These rules were nonsensical, perverse, needlessly strict, and very very strange. Of course, I loved the idea, and agreed immediately.
Before my work was released, the 'Witte Dood' label folded, and was bought out by 'Victory By Fire', who eventually released the four minidiscs as promised, in an extremely limited edition of 33, in 2011. Finding these lovely little occult beauties is now virtually impossible, so I've decided to re-release them as a single collection, with slightly modified artwork, based pretty closely on the original 4 pieces of art, now unified with the Gristian Luciferian-Zen sigil. Although the pieces are now collected on one volume, please do be mindful that each separate piece was only ever intended to be experienced alone, bookended by silence.
